Water babies

My daughter has just had a baby. He's nearly 8 weeks old now. They're going to take him for swimming lessons this weekend, I think it's with a company called 'water babies'. Has anyone else done this with their child/grandchild? I'm wondering the benefits and whether it's worth all the money or just a big con!

I couldn't afford it when I was on mat leave and then didn't think about it again until my daughter was 2 and enrolled her in something similar to Water Babies. She gets lots out of it now, but I think that when she was that young, it would have been a bit pointless.

Started my ds at 12 mos and dd at 6 mos at the council lessons, much cheaper than waterbabies but just as good. They loved it and are now qualified lifeguards.

I've been doing chapter1 with my 5months old son since May and it will end in 2weeks.
The lessons are OK and fun but one thing for sure the WB is NOT committed to the max number of mums&babies allowed to enter in the pool.
The pool we go to has the capacity of max 8mums&babies (according to WB itself) however last week session despite registering &accounting the attendees by staff themselves they still allowed 9mums&babies enter the pool.
The Pool was definitely over crowed, no room to swim, my son was very agitated& cried the entire session. We had ever been max 5mums&babies in the class since the beginning of the term in May.
On the session after absolutely no acknowledged nor any apology for the over crowded previous session & more upsettingly my son was still not settled in the pool for which I blame his experience from the previous session Sad.

They're very unprofessional & the experience not worth what they're charging for!
