My dd is verging on overweight so it's important I manage her portion sizes (she is as active as I can get her to be but the slightest drop off on activity and the weight seems to go on).
However, she has a big appetite and I don't want to starve her!
Her school lunchbox generally has a brown pitta with Tuna/egg/ham, a carrot or pot of sweetcorn or sometimes a boiled egg, a frube and a piece of fruit. Ie there are four things,
2 sweet and 2 savoury. Does this sound about right? She never leaves anything (except maybe cucumber!) and is going into y3 at a new school so will need her own morning snack which will be an apple

It doesn't sound wrong.

DS is my biggest eater & could run to fat, he typically had in y3:

morning snack: one small flapjack

one complete cucumber sandwich (thin slice smallish bread)
one large hot peperami
one cheese string
one large-ish carton apple juice

In contrast, other DC barely eat anything. DD is entering y6 & will have one small peperami & half (same thin slice bread) a ham sandwich. Not a bite more.

Hi not sure what age you DD is (different school system here) but could her weight have anything to do with "hormones". I know that there are various theories on girls gaining weight or not during puberty, but it might be worth looking into - it would be awful to think she had a eating issue if she doesnt really. FWIW my DD (8) also has be "watched" if eating was an olympic sport she would be on the podium. She just loves her food, so we also have to monitor her portions, but Im not worried about her weight - we just make sure she is eating sensibly and getting a decent amount of exercise each week. She herself is aware that she has a bit more shape about her than her peers - there are alot of very skinny girls in her class - but she is a very healthy happy girl, never has time off school thru illness etc. One thing we have done recently though is changed her breakfast routine - she loves cereal and could easily eat more than me in the morning - but she only has cereal once or twice a week now. Has toast & bananas. Yoghurt/fruit. scrambled eggs on toast etc. instead.

It sounds fine to me.

Dd1 hardly eats anything at lunch (I used to take one biscuit in as that was all I'd eat) but dd2 eats for England. Luckily she stays super skinny, otherwise I'd have to watch what she eats.
