My 2 year old DD has started biting, she mainly does it when the elder DCs are playing with her (winding her up) but sometimes just does it randomly for no reason. I've tried gently but firmly telling her no but she just laughs ! she really hurts too ! ANY advice much appreciated

Naughty corner, tell her no firmly, tell her if she does it again she will go in the naughty corner, if she does it again, tell her she is being put in the corner because she bit and it hurt and place her in the corner, if she trys to get out just place her back til she does her two minutes( one min for every year old), then when time is up explain why she has been placed there and get her to say sorry( if she can, my ds couldn't at two, so kiss was a sorry instead, finish with a kiss and cuddle.
This is a faze alot of us mums have to deal with but best nip it in the bud.x

My 2 year old now knows that if she bites anyone the TV will get switched off for 2 days. It seems to have worked a dream!

She seems to respond very well to punishments of removing a toy for a period of time, usually for half a day.

We read this with DS every single time when he was like this at this age; it worked. It means you're making the point without it being an endless lecture. We got the rest in the series - hands not for hitting, feet not for kicking - after a tip from other MNers. Gratefully passing it on!
