They will just literally throw them selves back with full force??

Or fall on there face?

They can sit for seconds though.

Hi survivingsummer and bishboschone. Yes I too am taking comfort that others are in the same boat and nice to hear that babysurvivingsummer is doing so well with crawling and walking. Gives me lots of hope and smiles Thanks.

I was supposed to get results of brain MRI today (one of many tests and referrals - of which all the others have come out fine/all clear), but I got no call even though I took the day off and have sat by the telephone all day. No sad faces though, no news is good news. Consultant's PA told me (at 0830 when I called them this morning to confirm I'd get results today) she had dd file out with the MRI results right there on the top Hmm and he'd (consultant) would call today. Fibber. I take comfort in that if it's bad news I would have definitely had that call today (I'd like to think). Roll on tomorrow - but I'll have to take the call at work.... bah.

Inappropriate ranty-rant on someone else's thread over Blush

Everyday , your journey sounds so much like mine . We managed to 'swerve ' the MRI last time we saw the paed as he had ' progressed' enough . We have had blood tests done for chromosomal abnormalities too. Have you been down that route? I won't send you sympathy but I can totally empathise with waiting . We have had 5 major tests / scares since I got pregnant . Waiting is horrendous ! Would you like to pm?

Thank you for recommending the reigns for the twins, my dd was 18 months when she walked and these little ones seems to be following the same age patterns so I think we have a little while to prepare for the walking stage :)

No worries guys, your not taking over .. Just mums worrying about our babies, glad you have somewhere to talk.

thank you ladythatlunches

I am all for reins, and given the option, dd1 chose reins every time rather than sit strapped in in the buggy when she got to that roaming toddler stage Smile

A top tip from my physio, ladythatlunches, is when baby is sitting, take their wrist and gently push their hand to the floor (to the side that they're falling to) when it looks like they're about to topple. You know, when they get to that leaning stage and you can see them going over in slow motion! This teaches them to 'save themselves' from the topple. We are just in the throes of understanding this one (sitting last week, and I think we'll be 'saving ourselves' by next week at this rate, a little hand went down on it's own today (yay!)).

Another one, is once they are sitting, hold a toy at an arms stretch for them (but within reach as long as they do stretch for it a bit) slightly up and slightly off to one side. This will destabilise them a little (move their centre of gravity) and will allow them to practise using the necessary muscles to keep their balance. Just a little bit of a stretch, don't keep doing it for too long (just a few minutes in any play session) and always let them 'win' the toy!

Just a few exercises to spice up play time! Smile
