My dd is 9 months she's been a horrendous sleeper since day 1. I've had 3 hrs sleep in 3 days do what do u do when you've tried everything? I've had her into a routine since she was 3 months old she naps twice a day like clockwork has dinner at 5 bath at 6 and is asleep by 7.30 every night but she starts waking around 11 every night and tonight she's refusing to go back asleep, I've tried pick up put down which helped abit until teething started up but she got 2 teeth through 2 months ago and she's not teething now. I've tried sssh patting her but it just escalates. I give her a bottle in the night but half of the time she takes an ounce or 2 and she has a 8 oz bottle at 7 so I don't think it's hunger. I feel like I've tried everything now and I'm desperate for some sleep my body aches with tiredness and I'm struggling to get through the day and started relying on energy drinks! Help?sorry if no sense can be made of this I'm feeling sick to my stomach and can barely see straight

There's a pretty horrendous sleep regression at 9 months. This is where their brains are working on new stuff making it hard for them to switch off.

The only thing that worked for me was to try and get as much sleep as possible at its worst then it would improve by itself. With ds I had to hold him until he relaxed and slept. With dd it's similar although sometimes I end up leaving her to cry for 5 mins out of frustration then she sleeps for a few hours. I don't do that regularly though - I normally get DH to help. She usually shouts her head off for him as she prefers me but sometimes I need a break!

Oh I also have to put them both to bed earlier as the lack of sleep for them (and me!) makes their sleep worse. Dd goes down at 6.30/7 most nights (she's almost 9 months). She keeps trying to stand up which is stopping her sleeping very well.

Thank you it's just nice knowing it's not only me! I think I'll try earlier bedtime tonight 6 30 see if she settles better. The second she wakes up she stands up literally standing up with her eyes closed so it does seem that she can't switch off from her development Hmm
