What makes your baby laugh?

My 4mo ds is just starting to chuckle. We're still waiting for the hysterical giggling stage but he definitely laughs now. Thing is, I thought babies were supposed to LIKE repetition! Not mine. Something will make him laugh one time but if we repeat it he's like 'Seen it - what else ya got?'

The only thing that will induce repeated grins (he's very smiley) is counting to three very slowly (oh the anticipation - the punch line is always a let down though) or blowing raspberries. We're running out of ways to try and amuse him now. So, how do you make your babies laugh?

Fake sneezing and Miss Piggy Karate chops always do the trick. Any silly exaggerated behaviour. Making a mess. Falling down.

This is a really cute thread.

DP woofing and panting like a dog with his tongue out gets DD hysterical.

I tried the fake sneezing today. DD looked at me like I had gone mad Hmm

However, I'm quite relieved to hear someone else's LO likes panting, as I was beginning to think she was just a bit weird!

Dropping cushions and pillows on her is also huge favourite. Maybe she is a bit weird...

Pouring water out of a bottle into the bath is hilarious, apparently.

DS loves repetition and will laugh and laugh at the same thing over and over. Eventually he gets bored but still offers up what sounds suspiciously like a fake laugh to appease mum and dad. DH has a fine 'work laugh' so maybe he has inherited this.

DS (5m) seems to think everything is hysterical, especially walking up me, standing on my shoulders and dribbling on my head Hmm.

He gets bored after the third repetition though and starts looking elsewhere. Funniest thing in the world is his 3yo big sister. Go to a park, plonk yourself at a cafe table near small children, drink coffee and read a book for an hour whilst your baby laughs uproariously at children who will naturally play to the gallery.

Job done.

DS growling at her, anything that makes her jump, DHs stubble nuzzling her toes, DS talking nonsense...
