Suddenly chewing with mouth open

DS1 (4.5) has suddenly started chewing with his mouth open. There's no reason we can see why he's started doing this. He doesn't have a cold or any breathing issues.

It's driving us nuts and I'm really I don't want to end up giving him issues around eating by going on about it all the time.

Does anyone else have this problem? What's the best way of dealing with it?

Tell him you don't want to see his food in his mouth

You won't give him issues about food, but you will be teaching him manners

FWIW my son is 11 and still does it, so you're in for the long haul

Good to know I'm not alone cybbo! I just seem to be pulling him up on it every 30 seconds.

Sit him at the table to eat - with a prop-up mirror in frount of him.

sit next to him so he can see you eat too.

eat a really mushy meal in horrid colours (tin spagehtti and tin mushy peas)

open your mouth lots, let it dribble and squelch around your face.

let him know that's what he looks like.
