I am in the middle of preparing a nursery for dd so she can go in there when 6mths. Really want to create as much stimulation but don't have loads of space and once cot in there it will be smaller - any ideas what things I can include in the room to help her development - am hoping to spend an hr or so a day in there with her especially when I go back to work

Would like to do the room to be something she can grow into

Thank you

My personal view is that anything that is part of the fabric of the room - the decor, the furniture, etc will soon blend into the background. And at six months there is very little you can provide that your child can 'grown into'. I would focus on maximising the space in the room so that more mobile items - books, stacking cups, etc can be put in accessible places as she gets older.

If you want a.full 'sensory experience' google 'montessori bedroom'.

I couldnt go THAT far.but have a few black and white patterns on the wall next to her change mat that she stares at and a few little buckets of toys one bucket being a sort of treasure basket with random.household and quirky objects in (again, google treasure basket / heuristic play).

It all depends how far you want to go with this really. At the end of the day the main thing you will want you dc to do in there is sleep.
