Newborn, nappies and co-sleeping - remind me?

Dc2 due shortly and this time round have a bedside cot so i can try to get a bit more sleep at night to cope with 22mo dd1.

Anyway, can someone remind me how often they change a newborns nappy at night? I seem to recall doing it everytime dd1 fed which was every 2 hours for what seemed like an eternity.

Am hoping that this time I might be able to feed and doze off to sleep again rather than get up, decamp to dd's bedroom, change nappy, feed and fail miserably in getting back to sleep

you do realise that this time ,if you need to change a nappy,

you will be able to do it one handed, in your sleep without waking the baby.

never wake a sleeping baby unless you have to.

My ds is 4 months old and i have a co sleeper. I only changed pooey nappies during the night, so would only get up once with him for the first couple of months. I don't change him at all now so don't get out of bed, which is pleasing!

DS2 is 10 weeks. I stopped changing him in the night about 4/5 weeks ago. Prior to that I changed at each feed in the night for the first few weeks, then went to changing at the late evening (10/11pm) only, unless pooey or in the event of a wee leak. DS stopped pooing during the night at around 5/6 weeks (saves it for when he wakes in the morning).

I also have a bedside co-sleeper crib - fab things. I barely wake up for feeds this time round. Only thing I find a little awkward is getting in and out of bed when DH is in the bed as well.
