What to do when your 14month old wants to eat all the time?

My 14 month old DS has always been a 'good eater' but in the last month or so he seems to have developed an insatiable appetite. I try to make sure that everything I give him is filling and nutritious but when he has finished he cries for more - he has 'filled out' a wee bit and has just started walking in the last couple of days. I am worried about him putting on too much weight because DH and I are both overweight and always have been DS1 who is 2.5 probably eats less than DS2. Any suggestions?

My niece pretty much lives on juice.

I give mine diluted juice. Neither of them drinks much and if it is water they drink even less. I really don't worry about them filling up on it. I worry more about the effect on their teeth. When we are out though I take a sports bottle of water for us all to share. Can't be faffing around with seperate cups/bottles for them all.

Ds filled out a bit at 14 mths and has now lost it all.
2 weeks of being unwell at christmas, now leaves him a bit skinny.
And I do understand your concerns because dh is big and doesn't want ds to be.

But ds eats like a trooper and so do his 3 male friends. All three of them will eat anything thats offered, at any time - even soon after a meal !!

His diet sounds fine.
Give the lad more food !!

I don't worry about dd filling up on juice either, 'cos she eats well anyway. But water is better for teeth, and water is a great habit to get into - I don't want dd to expect sugar in everything.
