Is it worth investing £250 in the Millpond core programme?

Not something I've ever heard of before, but with DD waking throughout the night, then at 6am for the day, and refusing to sleep until gone 10pm if she has a daytime nap, I've got to do something.

DD is 2.4, still in nappies and 'sleeps' in a bed. DC2 is due in Oct and I'm sick to the back teeth of being told I need to sort it by then. I bloody know it! Problem is, I have no faith that anything is going to work.

Is it likely to be money well spent?

Find the Millpond book (Teach your child to sleep, iirc) and give that a go first. It helped us enormously with DS - even if it doesn't help as much as you need it to, it could highlight the most intractable areas to be concentrated on with a paid consultation. And good luck, I know how hellish it is to have a non-sleeper!

My niece was a terrible sleeper (waking c 5 times a night) at 22 mo. her parents paid for consultation and it worked miracles! She now drops off in about 2 mins and mostly sleeps through (her routine is unsettled when she goes to see grandparents abroad). They get you to keep diary and then provide advice. For niece, it was around routine and moving a step back from the cot every 3 nights. I would never have believed it! Best £250 they spent and it has changed her mums and my brothers lives too - much less tetchy! I would defo recommend. Good luck!

I know I am quite late to this thread but just wanted to add something in case anyone goes back to read this. We had no full nights sleep with H until he was 2 yrs 6 months and only then because of Millpond. I would pay 10x what they charge knowing what I know now... However please be aware this is not an easy fix and anyone looking after your little one has to play by the same rules as it will not work.

We were told about Millpond when on holiday last year and another parent saw and heard H screaming for most of the night with no stopping. H had been diagnosed after a long painful process with silent reflux at 18 months and although I knew this was better his sleep continued to get worse as he had such poor learned behaviour when it came to sleep.

It took 6 very painful weeks untill we saw any results. We worked with a fantastic lady called Juliette and although she said she had not experienced many children with as much willpower as H she was always so understanding and patient and in my moments of despair convinced me to keep going. It worked and we are now on the first holiday in three years where we have got any kind of sleep.... H has slept through every night and I owe that to Juliette and the Millpond team. Do it but not if you don't have the full commitment to do exactly as they tell you!
