Reflux

Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice really... I think my little girl has reflux, she's 2 months old (10 weeks). I think she's had it for a while but I just kind of thought it was normal - mother of the year nomination out of the window! :-)

It quite often sounds like she's bringing up liquid in her throat and has difficulty swallowing it... Sometimes chokes a little. This isn't during feeds... Can be anytime! Also she cries when I take her bottle out of her mouth to wind her (which I had thought was frustration) but she wriggles around like she's in pain. She burps well and I've given her infacol before feeds from day 1 (not really sure if I should or not!?!). She is quite sicky but it's never a huge huge amount really... Not just after feeds but again, at anytime. God now I'm writing this all I feel like it's obviously reflux!?! Bad mummy. She's such a content little girl, hardly ever cries, apart from during feeds, when she's hungry or tired and is a right little chubba and has always put on weight really well. Just lately I'm struggling with her to finish feeds, she always does finish and it's like she wants it but it hurts! Stupid question now really but I should take her to the Drs shouldn't I? (totters off to call them and make an appointment). They will probably give me baby gaviscon to mix into her bottle? How long will I need to do this for? Will she just grow out of the reflux? god I sound stupid.

Hi my dd had reflux - really screamed during feeds, arching back etc. I read lots about reflux, went to dr etc. She was on infant gaviscon, ranitidene and donperidone. Some days these worked and sometimes they did nothing. Loads of people said how good they were so I'm sure your dd would be fine, I think my dd's was quite severe.

Anyway to get to the point - I went to a cranial osteopath out of sheer desperation and it was like a miracle cure. I was very sceptical of these sort of things but 1session completely cured her. I know sometimes it takes more than 1 session but I would say definitely worth a go!

Good luck.
