DS3 cut 7 teeth,

But where are the rest? He is 16mo today, he cut the top two at 4mo, the top either side of those at 5mo, the bottom middle two at 6mo, and the tooth on the left bottom at 8mo.

Eight months later, and still no more teeth. So he has seven teeth. I though they always came in 'pairs'? And it's not like I'm a novice at this teething lark, he's DC4!

I'm starting to worry that it's because he's on a dairy free diet due to a severe allergy to CMP. Could a lack of dairy delay his teeth? Surely there is enough calcium in the bucketloads of Nutramigen 2 he drinks? Just worrying.

He is also on a nut-free diet. Where are the rest of his teeth?!

Hmmm. I'm sure they're in there somewhere.

My DS is 17 months and has 2.5 teeth - top front two and half a pre-molar. I asked my dentist if it was a problem and he said 'late teeth are good teeth'. Perhaps ask your dentist what he or she thinks?

My dentist won't see him till he's 3yo. Sad

It is common for there to be a break between children getting their first 6 teeth and the next 10 with a further long break before the last 4 come in. And your DS got his first 6 quite early. What is unusual is that he got his 7th tooth at 8 months. Teeth usually come in pairs or near pairs, although one of my DS's premolars came in 3.5 months before the equivalent tooth on the other side. FWIW most of his second group of 10 teeth came in between 14 and 16 months, so I expect your DS's should come along quite soon.

DD had no teeth for 12 months then got 6 in 2 weeks. Now nothing again.

As far as I know, teeth are already formed in the jaw so calcium won't affect how quick they come out. It'll affect the strength of the 2nd teeth but not the 1st, as these were formed during pregnancy.... I think.

Might get corrected here!
