Games and things to do with a 3 month old

I play a few games with my 2-3 month old, but I am getting bored of them and obviously don't have more imagination to think of any other games/things to do.

At the moment we play: this little piggy went to market, the wheels on the bus and a couple of other silly rhymes with movement that I made up. Also we walk around the house and garden looking at things. I realise that she won't get bored of this (she especially loves the little piggies), but I need something new!

Any suggestions? Thanks :)

How about doing a baby massage course? I did one when DD was about that age and then we used to incorporate this into our daily routine.

To be honest though at this age there's not a lot you can do with them. My DD liked laying on her playmat looking at the dangly things & trying to reach for them and I used to sing and talk to her a lot, but I found that she was stimulated by just going round the supermarket in her pushchair or us going for a walk etc

Make a game about stuff you do. DS was fascinated by washing sorting (with much waving), and cooking. So much to do with cooking, colours, textures, songs about ingredients.

Hmmm, I sounds very odd. But it kept me sane!

She's getting plenty of stimulation just from being with you and being out in the world - you don't have to entertain her (also you really don't want to set up that expectation!) so just let her find out for herself what she wants to do. Smile

I agree with Octaviapink: you don't need to do much at all and you'll see when she's rolling and sitting, things will become much more interesting and you'll get better reactions so you'll think of more imaginative things to do. This site has games to play for every week of your baby's development www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/development/letsplay/

Second baby massage, also baby yoga (well, yoga with a baby really). Also gets you out of the house and meeting other Mums and babies at the same stage.

If you have a sling it's nice to go for a walk (weather permitting!) and chat away about what you can see (even if it's an excuse for window shopping).

Bubbles - loads of them, tummy time games - get a tummy time ball and roll them on it / sit them on it - if too expensive any big ball will do; songs involving tummy and face (tony chestnut look up and head shoulders knees and toes, round and round the garden; songs that they can try to copy you with (agadoo for instances); roll balls on to a mirror using a towel as a bolster and let them roll the balls and look at themselves; play with textures - cut up old clothes and let your baby feel them.

In fact, if you do the whole lot together it takes about 45 minutes and is a good workout for your baby.
