And he has just come down and said his face is still oily and greasy even though he has washed it 3 times.

Is this the start of puberty? And the reason he has been a stroppy pants for a while?

Can anyone recommend a facial wash suitable for an eleven year old and also some anti-perspirant deodorant as he is going on a school trip and has been told he has to bring some. I really don't want him using stuff he doesn't need too yet but I also don't want him in trouble for not having it while away.

Get some cleansing wipes and he can use that twice a day.

Tesco do their own and they are dirt cheap.

Are they any good though?

Well imo they are doing the fine with ds forehead [ i told him to clean his forehead with them after he puts gel on in the morning.

I always say start cheap and work your way up..............

Also everybody has different skin types.

I had really oily and spotty skin from about 11, and with hindsight, I made matters worse by using harsh products like oxy, etc. Key is to be gentle with the skin, but I would still recommend water, rather than wipes, to get properly clean. Simple is really good - try some Simple liquid cleansing wash,

My DS (now 9) uses a really cheap cucumber face wash I got from Boots and sensitive men's roll on deodorant ... he is unfortunately, a bit of an early starter Smile

DS no other signs though getting him in the shower can be a battle. Thankfully he doesn't smell yet.
