Am I the only one who seems to have a child who just simply chooses not to listen?. Both DH and I are getting really depressed and feel that we have run out of ideas to bring him calmly back into the family. Give you an example he will sit in the car chanting repetitively "n n n n La. la la Martian!" Then he will constantly demand attention bouncing on sofas at grandparents (really winds grandpa).....But, other times he can cherubic, a delight with his little sister and does reasonably well at school although he has been on red light during sports lesson. I suspect when he was in la la ditsy mode.....acting like a 4 yr old etc. We do have a situation that we are trying t amend. DH is away in London four days a week so I am single Mum for those days. We do make sure that he is in bed for 7 etc...to keep sleep to the max....Only wish that I cld feel more human but exhausted by him. Any tips?

Saying the word 'chocolate' focuses dd1's attention Wink. She is the queen of zoning out.

sorry not much help, but my dd aged 6 is just the same. Drives me bonkers and I always end up shoutingSad I could easily ask her 5 times to come brush her teeth. She too acts much younger at times, I just wonder if its a funny age when their leaving the relative safety of pre school to being around older kids at school/clubs etc. Hope someone will come along to offer some suggestions.
