Waking baby, breaking mummy

15 week baby wakes frequently and ALWAYS at 4am, after which it's v difficult to settle him. It's not hunger and it doesn't necessarily work to bring him into the big bed for the last few hours - he'll still wriggle and jiggle and spit out his dummy til I give in and get up. What to do???

Could it be the 4 month sleep regression? Whatever it is, TTSP Smile

At this stage I tried moving the bedtime back or forwards a bit to try and change when they wake. Have you tried that?
I would also suggest the light in his/her room which could be waking them up early but I wouldn't guess there's sunlight yet at four in the morning. (Actually I know the sun isn't up at that time yet because dd likes to wake me up for a feed at that point Sad)

Not a regression - sleep has always been a problem!!

Will try moving bedtimes (haven't dared yet).

As for lighting, we've blacked the room to the point that it resembles a bomb shelter. Wait a second, maybe that's what's upsetting him...
