My lovely 3mth old girl has over the past 5 weeks begun to cat nap in the day.
She wakes after 30/40 mins max in the car, cot, be, sofa anywhere. She often wakes crying and yawning. Ive tried to get her back to sleep sometimes with success only if shes rocked or i sway her in front of our spin dryer. I often have to lie down with her to get an hour but don't want to encourage this bad habit.
Shes doin quite well at night, only waking once for a feed.
Any ideas on how to help my tired girly.
Thanks

Please remember that people have convenient memories - you forget the early days surprisingly quickly!!! My 3.5 month old had been doing what you describe during the day - feed, be awake for a couple of hours, kip for half an hour, wake up for 15 then it all started again.... I thought that was normal? FWIW things are getting better and most days I am managing to get her to have some kind of proper sleep (and she is asleep now yay).

My DS had reflux and would have 30 mins max about 6-7 times a day and feed every two hours, hourly in the evenings from about 4 weeks to 7 months, breastfed. I tried absolutely everything going and was consistent with different techniques, baby whisperer, gina ford, white noise, darkness, rocking, sling, pram, swing. Then one day I just thought oh sod this, this is how it is, I just need to get over this. I would think myself lucky that he slept so wonderfully from 7pm until 4:30am, have a feed in bed with us and fall back to sleep until 6:30/7am. But the days were horrendous and with no family around and no close friends I would dread the moment my husband walked out the door to go to work. But we did get over it and at 7 months he started having 3 naps a day, a good hour or more and I started to feel a little more in control. Now he is 16 months and has just one nap of 1.5 - 2 hours and sleeps 12 hours at night. I found myself getting obsessed with naps when he was little and in the end I just relaxed a bit more about how long, where, what time he napped as I felt as long as he has some sleep I didn't care how we got there!

I know I am very late..but all these comments sound exactly like my 13 week old.
2020 here.. i bet all ur babas are 6..7 year olds now.
I just wanted to ask..did you all do any sort of sleep training?..and did they nap in the cot for all naps?( i find swing lets my 13 week old transition abit better..because hes being rocked)
you hear about self soothing , anyone attempt it or did baba just grow out of it..Im scared to sleep train, but I know he needs to learn to self soothe.

I know Im late , but ant help from you experienced Mamas would be appreciated.

Anxious mama x
