DS asked for the following on toast a few weeks ago (he kept asking what "gredients" we had and insisted on putting them all on Confused

Butter
Marmite
Lemon juice
Oregano
Black pepper
Cinnamon

And he ate it and said it was nice Confused

fivegomadindorset · 22/04/2012 21:07

3 year old DS, brussell sprouts and cabbage.

Lovethesea · 22/04/2012 21:08

DD (3) has a tiny list of approved foods but it does include pickled beetroot, coleslaw and as much Boursin as the world can produce. Due to her refusal to eat meat of any kind (except one type of sausage) she often has a slab of Boursin on the side of her meal ..... I like it, but I hadn't considered it with Yorkshire Puddings before.

seabuckthorn · 22/04/2012 21:11

DS1 yes to anything garlicky, olives, cheese( it was one of his first words!) the smellier, the riper the better. I understand the fear that your cheese may not be safe bornsicky He ran off with my feta earlier!
He also likes dried apple- that's probably not that weird but its weird to me!
He also is happiest eating ham as part of his essential breakfast routine!

smornintime · 22/04/2012 21:12

DS will only entertain a pancake if it's covered with Marmite. Now I like Marmite, but on a pancake?!? Confused

oreocrumbs · 22/04/2012 21:20

Pickled onions are DD's favourite.

Broccoli - with everything I'm not expecting this to last a life time so I'm giving her a life time supply now Wink

Whole black peppercorns, dog and cat food, hot smoked salmon but not cold, hummous and sudocreme are all regular favourites.

She also likes her steak rare Confused. Not sure if they are meant to have rare steak but when offered well done she point blank refused, and scoffed all of my rare steak. She's still standing!

BlueChampagne · 23/04/2012 13:03

wasabi peas (2.4)

Voidka · 23/04/2012 13:07

DD loves salsa - she eats it with most things instead of ketchup.

DashingRedhead · 23/04/2012 13:16

FrankWippery at percebes.

Blatherskite · 23/04/2012 13:26

Are pepperami odd? DD will eat very little so we don't get much chance to have an odd food that she likes.

She loves Pesto too and really garlic-y garlic bread.

Those percebes look revolting Frank!

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 23/04/2012 13:33

My 2 year old loves cheese. In any form, he has grated cheese in a bowl for breakfast quite often. Every meal has to have cheese on.

He likes garlic and cheese mash.

MyDogShitsShoes · 23/04/2012 13:44

DS 8 months, current favourites :- avocado, red pepper humous, brussel sprouts, garlic bread.

His breath is interesting to say the least.

(obvious your ds sounds fab!)

Limelight · 23/04/2012 13:45

Sushi and sashimi in our house too. With lots of wasabi. Particularly octopus and cuttlefish.

DS will even suspend his 'absolutely no green food, green food is bleurgh and only eaten by weird people' rule for the seaweed!

FrankWippery · 23/04/2012 14:39

I agree the percebes do indeed look disgusting (they're also called Goose Neck Barnacles), but they are divine. They're a cross between lobster claw and clams, that's the closest I can come up with. DD3 is a seafood fiend, and was pretty much weaned on the stuff as we lived on the beach in Spain for the first 2½ years of her life.

She also loves rare steak/Iberian pork too. IMO it is THE only way to eat both, so it's how I cook it. DD1 (18) has to cook her own steaks as I refuse to cremate them for her.

Woodlands · 24/04/2012 11:16

My DS is pretty fussy but loves spicy food (the other day he ate loads of a really delicious hot and sour Goan pork curry my DH made). He also loves Branston pickle and would eat it out of the jar if I let him. I should try him with gherkins (yuck) and pickled onions. I craved lime pickle when I was pregnant with him and that's hot and pickled, so maybe he would like that too!

TheArmadillo · 24/04/2012 11:39

Very spicy food - she stole some when we were first weaning her at 6 months old and hasn't looked back since. We have never come across anything too hot for her to eat (and dh likes his painfully spicy). She'll eat pretty much anything as long as you put it in a spicy sauce with rice.

She also likes rare steak.
