Potty trained toddler will only poo at home

DS aged 2.10 has been potty trained well over 6months. In the last two weeks he has decided he will only poo in his potty at home even if he is desperate.

He spends a day a week with each set of grandparents- never had a problem before.

He started nursery this week but the problem started a couple of weeks ago.

He will happily wee in a toilet or any potty.

He was in obvious discomfort when I picked him up from his nanny's today.

What can I do to help him?

Nothing except encourage him to use the adult toilet rather than the potty. My ds has only just started using the adult seat on our toilet (he is 4) and will now POP outside of our house. He would poo in other houses that had a potty or child size seat on the toilet but never when "out". It might take a while. Maybe take his potty to gps rather than use what they have there, assuming you don't already?

Thanks, will give that a go. I was thinking of taking the potty with us actually, that is preferable to him storing it all up and getting a tummy ache!

To add to Ace's advice, if using his own potty works you could then buy an identical one for each of the places he goes to.

You may find the nursery could be of help here too if you explain the situation. They will have seen it all. He's still only little as well so he might not feel comfortable with an adult toilet but you should def encourage him using a child seat rather than a potty as that will be the next step up.
