potty training dictator

Have been potty training ds (2yrs 6months)for 2 weeks now. He is now mostly dry day and night (2 accidents since monday - 1 in day and 1 at night). We are obviously very pleased, but it seems to have unearthed his inner dictator. For example at bedtime he will litually ask for potty 4 times in 20 min after lights out, each time squeezing out the tiniest wee or poo. This morning, rather than sit on the potty he insisted on going downstairs to the 'big loo', at full volume outside dd1+2 bedroom early in the morning. He was not amused when I took him back up after so I could get dressed. He knows that saying 'I done a poo' will mobilise the troops, but his tenses aren't quite there yet, and he confuses poo and wee.

He is now trying to extend his influence to which milk he has (he has no choice due to intollerance). I don't want to make him have accidents as he is still in the early stages and he still sometimes asks for nappy (he is the self-appointed baby - whenever he sees a baby he says it is him). He has been persuaded to give up milk and nappies over the past few months, but at the same time I don't want him to rule the roost.

He seems young to be dry day and night. Well done you.
Can you give him a reward for using the potty once rather than four times?

I haven't given him any rewards yet for potty training, so not sure whether I want to introduce them, also would need to be non food related as he will have brushed his teeth. It is worth thinking about though. Dd2 was the same, once she got the hang of it night time followed on, dd1 however was more of a marathon, hence he can obviously detect my keeness for it not to fail. He will usually wake us once in the night for the potty, but night time wakings are still not unusual for him (yawn!).

Well done! I've been potty-training 2.7 yo DD for 2 months now and have given up for a bit and put her back in nappies.
