dd has chicken pox and is bored but this is not a new problem although worse at the moment.
she has been told not to stand on the arms/back of chairs.
she has been told not to swing on door handles.
she has been told not to pull corner protectors off.
she has been told not to climb the heated towel rail/radiator.
she has been told not to stand on the windowsill.
i have explained why not and have tried gently reminding her, asking her what she is doing, barking dd get down, every time i look at her she is somewhere she shouldnt be and im at the end of my tether.

i have took her out on a quiet path on her scooter, she has been in the garden, she has craft things to do and too many toys but will not behave herself.

me and dp have both shouted at her tonight, to no avail. Sad

Pavlov - isn't that one of the difficulties of parenthood though? The years pass swiftly but sometimes the hours drag in a welter of life-but-not-as-we-know-it. It will pass but the I do really feel for the OP. My two are not like that (maybe ds is actually) but when we have visitors who are, I worry a lot.

dashing yes, of course, I am just reminding. I have to constantly remind myself when dd is larking about climbing or turfing over furniture. I remind myself of what I love about them is Also drives me crazy sometimes. It helps me get through that moment or more then moment. Without absolutely screeching like a harpie Grin. Does not mean I do not for the moment feel the pain of the OP. Just got to let some things go IMO, that's all. But I can only say what works for me and Dh in our own family dynamics. We have been described as 'relaxed' or 'Lassez fairer'. What came first, chicken or egg perhaps? But more that we respond to our own situation.

dashing funnily enough she is less so at others houses! Well til the ground rules have been established, which generally involves similar parenting to mine and chaos thus ensues Grin. Maybe we attracted similar styles to us, or more likely we chose playtime with this we know have similar children!

dd is very quiet and well behaved at other peoples houses and at school, she is just wild at home.
also having trouble with her "playing" with dd2. today she was passing her the ball but as dd2 toddled over to get it dd1 kept diving past her to beat her and knocking her over as she passed.
if dd2 is trying to step through a door dd1 will push past and knock her over.
she chases behind dd2 and bunts her knocking her off balance.
she tickles her too much till she falls over.
she swings her too hard on the swing and the swing nearly tipped over the othe day.
she is over zealous rather than malicious but im always telling her to calm down.
