Argh! Both children have wet themselves several times recently 4 and 6yo!

DD (4yo) has wet herself from time to time ever since being potty trained - she seems to hold it and hold it until it's too late. In the last week she has wet herself twice in a play park and at soft play when she was busy.

DS (6yo) was at a holiday sports club today and yesterday - he's been before, goes with his best mate, loves it and begs to go - and he wet himself twice yesterday and 3 times today. He hasn't done this for years. He said it came out too fast. He did drink a lot by the sounds of things, and doesn't seem to have any signs of a UTI.

I feel a bit freaked out about it, tbh. We have a new baby (6weeks old), but he doesn't seem to have caused too much upset, and my children seem to be otherwise happy and balanced. Is this really weird? Should I be worried or let it pass and see what happens? Any advice?

Have they had chicken pox?
That was a sure fire sign for me it was coming on.

I saw my friends ds wet himself when out, very unsuual for him, she was shocked, I suggested CP and she went Hmm but a week later he was all spotty

It may just be that they were enjoying themselves too much to want to stop their activity. Did one child get a lot of attention for doing it so other is following suit?
It is an extra chore to deal with whilst having a newborn and may be the children reverting slightly to babyish behaviour which they often do when a baby is getting attention (lots of pretending to be a baby, baby talk to you etc)

Have you inspected ds's willy? Sometimes if the skin is tight, sore or irritated my ds gets confused about when he needs a wee. Its like he blocks out the discomfort but that also blocks out the sensation of needing to wee.

Otherwise I was with littleducks all the way thinking they are most likely coming down with something.
