My DS2 is a few weeks old and ww are doing a lite version at the moment to try and get good sleep principles going... Mainly in terms of naps, putting down awake where I can and not snacking too much etc etc. my first son started at 16 weeks but would be interested to hear when you followed to the letter as it were. Mumsnetters who don't like routines or gf please don't post as I don't want to get into the whole debate! TIA

are you FF? Folk do say that it's ''easier'' when FF.

I wouldn't recommend any routine that failed to embrace responsive parenting, responding to cues from the baby for food, sleep, cuddles.

Followed the gf routine from the day we came home from hospital, pretty much to the letter. Worked like a dream for us. Satisfied, happy baby. Very satisfied, happy mummy. There are so many different ways of parenting, each with own merits, you have to do what's you feel is right for you.

I'm Breastfeeding and I guess my supply whilst good isn't necessarily established so I am feeding on demand to a certain degree. Just wondering when I should try and be a bit more to the letter!

At about 6 or 7 weeks.

We started a routine as soon as we came home from the hospital. (not quite GF, but similar). Initially we just did difference between night and day and then once milk came and I could start expressing and feeding properly, we did the full on routine.
My baby is now 6 months, has been entirely breastfed throughout, slept 11-7 from 8 weeks and is genuinely the happiest baby I know. She generally naps as soon as I put her down and hardly ever cries.

I really do think routines are the way forward! Good luck

Hi!
I used some elements, such as establishing difference from day and night from literally the day I got home, and then started following feed and naps times almost to the letter from about 6/7 weeks.
Personally I found it worked a dream, and though we obviously have occasional off days, people always comment on how content he is, he is putting weight on well and slept through from about 9 weeks.
And ive never had to leave him to cry or not give him cuddles etc - about which there are many misconceptions
