I don't know what to do, up until about 3 weeks ago my daughter was an angel. She fed herself in her highchair, ate any thing she was given, drank plenty of water and slept well.
Everything has changed now, she refuses to sit in her highchair or bumbo, she won't eat a full meal she will only eat about 2 mouthfuls, no matter what I give her. She pours water out of her cup onto what ever is closest, she screams the whole time she is in the bath. She spends 80% of the day crying because she can't get her own way ( eg I won't let her play with the house phone or let her in the kitchen ) and she is waking up every couple of hours on a night wanting a feed because she hasn't ate enough during the day. She also refuses to have an afternoon nap even though she is exhausted by 1pm.

Her diet is mainly lean protein, veggies and fruit. She doesn't get sweets, crisps or any of that junk. She has been sleeping in her own room since 3 months old. She used to sleep 6pm 'til 6am.

I am at a complete loss. Any tips?

Yes my 19mo DS is similar. The only thing I find that helps is the great outdoors. He is a nightmare in the house but up in the woods he will happily potter, poke ants with sticks, pile up stones on a bench etc for ages. Then he is hungry. Then he sleeps. Repeat. Grin

I take him up into the woods way away from roads or to fenced parks so I can relax a bit and not helicopter too much. Thank god for the unseasonably warm weather!

I can still remember when someone asked my aunt was my cousin out of the terrible twos yet and she laughed and replied "the terrible one and a halfs to fives?". Kids at this age are prone to tantrums, happens all of a sudden.
Lots of running around and distraction has worked for us to minimise the damage :o also regular snacks and drinks to prevent the "hunger break down"!

Ds's behaviour has improved no end since being allowed out in the garden to play, he is eating more and sleeping better.

My grandma always said that you should treat your children and your animals the same, plenty of exercise, plenty of decent food and a good dose of discipline! Seems to work a treat :o

Thank you all for your help. I'm going to leave the buggy at home today and let her run wild (well on a safety harness) in the park to see if it improves her behaviour. Hopefully she will wear herself out :)

It would be great of you could find somewhere she could actually run wild. Seems to be what makes toddlers happy like dogs. Grin

Hope you have a good day out. I'm just thinking now about where to take DS for his run today. He's been up 3 hours now and we've definitely reached the limit for how long we can be in the house!!

Providing she can sit up on her own, you could try a toddler table and chair. Encourage big girl behaviour with some new cutlery.

Just a thought.
