My DS's are 7yo and can't ride a bike. We took them alot at first as we have a large park right on our door step but both kept complaining they didn't want to take their bikes when we went to the park. They just wanted to run about and play on the swings and slides, they just don't seem interested in the bikes.

tortoise - sorry haven't read all thread, but does he want to ride a bike?! My DS1 really wasn't that fussed. He did learn to ride (alot of moaning on his behalf and a lot of persuading on ours! ) when he was about 7 and although he can ride a bike now he chooses not to (he is 9) - he would prefer to walk. He is the same with swimming. He is 9 and still can't swim! He can't be bothered! although I am pushing with this one and he is just about to start one to one lessons (life saving skill and all that).

He also did learn to ride a bike because his sister who is 3 years younger than him could and he didn't want to be out done by her!

He sometimes shows interest in riding his bike but loses it quickly when he cant do it!
