My Ds has been hard work on and off since he was born, we have always had to be one step ahead of him and he is relentlessly disobedient. We have read books, taken advice, star charts, time out, positive praising taken to the extreme BUT now I would like to see a psychologist and was wondering if anyone can recommend one, I live in london SW11

Sounds like you would be better off going to see your GP and asking for a referral to a paediatrician.

You could try www.achippp.org.uk. It's a website for child psychologists in private practice. The benefit of going to a psychologist is that they could observe you in your own home and give you advice in situ. If further diagnostic assessment is needed, they should be able to tell you pretty early on.

Go to your GP and ask for a referal.

Or, if you want to go private, go to The Portland and get a Paed to give you a referal.

PM for more details.

In what way hard work?

How does he differ from other children his own age?
