Cruising baby and wooden floorboards......ouch!

Hope this isn't a stupid question!
My DD has just started cruising around the furniture and also letting go and standing on her own, but I have wooden floors all through my flat. I've tried to teach her to land on her bum but she still seems to fall over like a tree! This means I'm following her about and catching her whenever she falls so that she doesn't hit her head off the floorboards. I can't get anything else done as its all she wants to do all day every day! I've tried to put down rugs, cushions etc but she moves past these or trips over them.

Anyone had else had this situation? Suggestions welcome!

keep her bare footed Smile

falls are to be excepted when crusing

This is going to sound really awful but I have had wooden floors with both my DCs at this stage and they did hit their heads a few times but really it didn't bother them

Same as anothername. DD2 is at the same stage, and yes, there are bumps occasionally but no actual damage done- a quick cuddle and she's fine again. I remember the phase with DD1, it doesn't take too long till they're steady.

(Then they start walking properly and it happens all over again).

Have the same thing with DD who's now just walking. Seem to say "oops, up you get!" 100 times a day. No lasting damage so far (to her or floor).

Same trouble here. And worse at work because it's concrete!

My solution at work is a thick woolly hat. And a dog that follows her around like a walking crash mat.
