TEETHING

Hey, you lot are pretty good with the advice, so looking to you first...I think my 13 week old DD is teething. She is constantly putting her hands in her mouth and recently holding my finger in her mouth and chewing it. She does a funny half cry whiney thing while doing it. Also feeding is a nightmare the last week. She wants to feed but when she is on -ebf - she just pulls my nipple backwards then lets go then goes back on again constantly and I am getting sore. I am struggling to hold her head in place to not pull me she is so strong and wilfully doing this. I am worried she isnt getting enough milk. She is sleeping ok so far. Firstly, do you think this is teething or is she too young. Also, any tips? I have ordered every type of teething rattle and chew thing you can from mothercare and got some bonjela. but it just seems to rub off quickly.

Could be teething.

I found Dentinox teething gel to be brilliant, others swear by Ashton and Parsons Teething Powders.

Have you tried Calpol (can't remember what age you can give that from but I know Ibuprofen is 6 months)?

My DD was teething from 12 weeks; first tooth didn't appear until she was 6 months. But it was definitely teething. Really upset, dribbling, often red faced.

She is 16 months now and still suffers quite badly from time to time. But it was worse when she was younger, all the teeth moving around in the gums apparently.

We muddled through with bonjella and baby nurofen when needed (calpol just doesn't seem to hit the spot).

Both paracetamol and brufen are from 3 months, I find brufen better and teething gel worse than useless, but every baby's different! Does sound like teething, my DS started at 13 weeks and we can only just (10 weeks later!) feel a little tooth under the gum.

She's just being a baby. Seriously this thread comes up all the time. Don't be surprised if nothing appears for months

Ashton & Parsons are your friend Smile, if you can get hold of some they're worth their weight in gold. Apparently there was some hold up with the manufacturers so they're pretty hard to find at the moment but they help calm baby and sort out their stomachs as well.
