DS2 (9) still does it, only when tired. He has always done it. Grin

self soothing

My DD does this. She pulled them so hard when she was a young baby that the split at the join with her head. She's 10mo now and less rough with them!

I think she does it to stay awake. A friend's child whacks himself instead.

yup DS does this and pulls the hair just above his ears.

No idea why!

crazynanna · 11/03/2012 20:01

My dd1 still does it....she's 26

One of mine did this one of mine didn't- I agree it's probably just a self-comforting thing. Rubbing eyes and lying down just seem more obvious things to do

DD used to play with DH's ears when tired, instead of her own!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 11/03/2012 20:03

DD does it too. It was really handy hen she was a baby as I knew she wanted a nap!

2catsand1rabbit · 11/03/2012 20:14

But I wonder why? I was trying to think, does it have something to do with being in the womb, the birth...

Our's always grabbed someone else's ear when tired. Thumb in mouth, and find a convenient ear to grab. Most curious!
