Kissy baby - should I rein her in a bit?

I'm afraid since teaching DD (12mo) to kiss me and DP, she's got it into her head that everyone and everything has to be kissed. Repeatedly. While this is incredibly cute and funny in a one year old, I wonder if I'm going to have trouble later on with her forwardness. God, she's going to be a nightmare with the boys! She kissed every baby in her little singing group today - I swear she thinks other babies are dolls and teddies. Do you think I need to set some boundaries now, or is it too early and I should just let her have her fun?

I would let her have fun.

My son is 2 and he kisses everything even trees! If he can't kiss it then he will blow it a kiss. I'm starting to teach him now that he only kisses people mummy says he can because he kisses random people or goes to kiss them! He kisses his toys and even his trike goodnight.

Leave her be, it's not harmful and she's just practising her latest skill Smile

Thanks both! I suppose she is so young that she wouldn't understand why certain people/things were to kiss or not.

Upsydaisy from in the night garden does the same. It makes the ninkynonk work much better, so I shouldn't worry.

my 21mo ds has been like this for a few months. it charms everyone and just melts their heart :) i do worry about what id do if he tries to kiss someone i dont want him to... but we've not been in that situation yet. so for the moment its fine, and when he's a bit older to understand i'll probably take thesinglepringle's approach which sounds sensible.
