Teething at 11 weeks??

My 11 week old daughter has been showing teething symptoms; very grumpy, constantly putting her hand in her mouth and seems really tired all the time. Could this be her teething? 11 weeks just seems really early??

I have 4 children, 3 of them all started teething at around 6/7 months.

However, my youngest had her first tooth at 12 weeks and all of them by 5 months except her back teeth, she got them around 10 months.

She never showed any signs of teething, ever!

We had to keep checking as there was no grumpiness, dribbling etc

:) Thanks MrsPresley I think I will try have a good look in her mouth later (just managed to get her to have a sleep which might help!)

I think many babies find their hands at that age so suck on them, making you think it's teething. Grumpiness - hard to tell, they wake up more as they get more alert so could be more tired. DD is 11 weeks and loves sucking on her hands (so much so she tries to shove them in while feeding!!)

My DS was teething ever since around 3 months, but didn't actually get his first tooth until near 8 months! Teething gel worked quite well for him during the early stages.

She's definitely tired she's just fallen asleep in her cot now. Thanks might get some jel if this continues :)

To me that sounds like just being a typical 11-week-old! My dd chewed her hands constantly from a few weeks old (and has had plenty of grumpy phases) but didn't get her first tooth until 7 months. I thought a few times that it was teething, but then proper full-on teething hit and it was different - red cheek on one side, dribble, uncharacteristic screaming in the night... They do say that teeth grow in stages over a long time, if she is teething chances are it'll settle down and then come back.
