When do children...

.. on average do the following...

  1. Stop waking through the night for attention (not for feeds) etc
  2. Do day to day necesarry tasks without an adult having to whoop and cheer and make it seem like the MOST exciting thing in the world (e.g. go to the loo, eat food etc)
  3. Go to sleep when they are tired rather than wanting to fight it and getting more and more overtired.
  4. Stop wanting bedtime stories and do their own betime routine.

Any views from people appreciated.

erm.... I can actually remember the very first time I went to bed because I was tired and without being cajoled and told and told.... I was about 16. Blush

the rest I have no idea about!

Well my DS is 2.10 and he did

  1. About 3 months
  2. About 2y for loo and earlier for food
  3. Never had problems with sleep at night time but naps were a different story
  4. Too young to do his own bedtime! But I love our stories at bed time anyway Smile

  1. about 2.5 IME with DD1
  2. I've never done this whooping & cheering - seems a bit OTT?
  3. I'm 44 and still fight it.
  4. I don't know but it will be a sad day when the DD's don't want me to read to/with them anymore.
