My dd tore her upper frenulum tonight when she fell over (she is at the stage where she is "cruising" around furniture but has not mastered sitting back down very well).
It bled quite a bit but then stopped and she quickly went back to her normal happy self. I on the other hand am not!
I had friends here at the time. And both they and dh stated there was nothing A&E could do so there was no point taking her. But the doctors aren't open tomorow to get it checked out. I can't get to look in her mouth as she just pulls away, so I don't know the true extent of the damage. I've googled as much as I can for information and it seems a fairly common accident, but its not reassuring me at all. NHS direct state they will only talk to you if its an emergency, and I'm not sure if it is as she is fast asleep and in no obvious pain now.
Has this happened to anyone else? Does it heal properly, back to the way it was? And do you think she needs to be seen? Is it likely to affect her speech development?
