dunno, once you ditch the dummy she may well go back to thumb sucking!

i reckon it's wroth a go though... i don't know if it's true but i heard that thumb sucking can do more damage than dummy and usage can be restricted and also you can get orthodontic dummies

Nooooo - they look awful, imho if she's old enough to ask for one then she's too old for one. Sucking her thumb will look a lot better than a bit of plastic covering her beautiful face She'll grow out of it.

hmm , our dentist said if she'd had her time again she'd have gone with a dummy. If you give it now it might be sufficient to break her thumb habit .

Dummy, better for teeth and my neice is 13 and sucks her thumb at high school and horse riding, and everywhere else!

Mine went through a phase of asking for a dummy at this age so I bought her one. I think she wanted a little bit of baby regression. She didn't get addicted to it at all - got bored of it within a few months. Sometimes if she is stressed she asks for one though, which I give her.
