Sleep strategy for 4yo and 1yo

Please suggest a strategy for me that will stop my boys bouncing around and get them into bed asleep. Please don't say routine blah blah blah, they have a routine and it usually works. However the earliest they have gone to sleep this week is 9. The latest was midnight. It is mostly DS1's fault, as when I am putting DS2 to sleep he has been coming in and being a little monster quite noisy and jumping on the bed winding him up. What can I try other than strapping him down somewhere? Wink

I am not sure if this will help, but 4yo should be able to understand that 1yo needs to sleep and 4yo does not need to disturb him. I have explained to my almost 4yo that he has to stay quiet / read a book in his bed instead of making noise.
I am actually having problem with my 1yo who is in the same room as 4yo. 4yo DS is usually asleep by 7:30, and 1yo bounces, sings and cries in his cot until 8:30. Then DS is awake around 6:30 and usually wakes his little brother... At the moment I am teaching him to stay quiet in mornings if DS2 is asleep.

I have explained it every night but he just doesn't listen to me. He won't stay in his room and he won't stay watching Cbeebies either. DS2 is still in our room as I don't trust DS1 to not wake him up when I try to get him to bed. Tonight DS1 has pulled pictures off my wall, thrown Avon stuff everywhere and knocked over my ironing pile. That's after trying to get into my divan drawers, dancing and singing at the top of his voice and general shouting. He is nearly 5 so I expect him to understand better. DS2 has just gone to sleep now I need to somehow shut the other one down

This is what I save Peppa pig, Ben and Holly and the iPad for.

He loves these so I purposely restrict them so when they do come on he's glued to the sofa.

I get the one year old in bed then, then I can come down and spend half hour reading etc with older one until he goes to bed.

The oldest is only 2 1/2 though. Is there anything your 4yr old loves that can only come out at X time while you are getting the baby to bed?
