Quid. Let 'em save. don't forget they've got 20 teeth to lose and quite often a couple go close together.

Do you do pocket money? Might be the moment to start. DS was on 50p a week from 5.

mousymouseprice · 04/02/2012 13:52

no pocket money yet, will start from y1 though.
saving up is a good idea!

Quid as it is easy for the tooth fairy to remember. £2 coin for a double. DS1 has his first wobbler at the moment. Hours of emotional support have gone into this.... it's hanging by a thread. He will not pull it out weirdo

£2 for the first tooth and £1 each for the rest

clemetteattlee · 04/02/2012 17:44

Blimey. It is 50p a tooth here.

Bunbaker · 04/02/2012 17:46

£1 here (South Yorkshire). It's the same for any tooth BTW.

Thetokengirl · 04/02/2012 18:21

£1 flat rate here. The tooth-fairy is also very busy and sometimes doesn't make it the first night, but she always gets time the second (up to now anyway).

susiedaisy · 04/02/2012 18:29

Flat rate of £1 per tooth no matter what tooth

anonymosity · 05/02/2012 03:53

25pence, it was good enough in the 70s and its good enough now.

nappydaysagain · 05/02/2012 04:07

£2 for first tooth, £1 for all the rest.

Oblomov · 05/02/2012 21:24

Was HORRIFIED to be told by other playground mums that it was £2 for the 2 front teeth and then £1 for all others. £2. 2 friggin pounds. beg your pardon. was shocked. thought it was wrong. but still did it. bowed to pressure

naturopath · 05/02/2012 21:26

mine aren't old enough yet but I've also heard £2 (which I also think is too much btw!)

Usually £1 a tooth and £2 for a front tooth here however last Friday night the toothfairy left DS2 £10 Blush.

I'd gone out with friends leaving the boys with DH and DS2's wobbly tooth came out, he put it under his pillow but DH forgot to tell me and didn't sort it. So first thing Saturday morning I woke to DS2 sobbing that the tooth fairy had forgotten him, so feeling rather delicate hungover I raided my purse and only had a £10 note. I made a big deal of searching under pillows, duvet etc and pretended it had slipped down between the mattress and bed. This led to a very excited DS2 who thought he was rich Grin.

The tooth fairy did however leave a note the next night explaining that she had run out of £1 coins and he should not expect the same amount next time.

Hulababy · 05/02/2012 21:48

£1 per tooth here, more for first.

Although DD lost her first tooth whilst on holiday in US and tooth fairy only had a $5 note.

mrsbaffled · 06/02/2012 11:58

£1 per tooth flat rate. Where I live that is considered stingy and many other children are left £5 :o

mrsbaffled · 06/02/2012 11:59

gah my smiley came out wrong... it should have been Shock!
