Cruising and pulling up - is it normal for one leg to "lead"??

DD is 14.5 months. She's been slow-ish with her gross motor skills, everything else fine. She's not cruising, walking with her v-tech thing etc, but I've noticed that when she stands up she always goes on her right leg first then left leg, iyswim, and when she needs to sit down, it's always her left leg that goes first. Does this sound normal?? They are they same size, if that helps.

I wouldn't worry about that. I think it's normal that everyone has their preferred leg to go first with / to stand on etc. If you think about it, you probably much prefer standing on one of your legs rather than the other when you stand on one leg. Or imagine you lie on the floor on your back and you need to get up. Once you are in a sitting position, you'd probably always put your hands on the floor next to you on the same side of your body and not on the other when trying to get up, iyswim. I certainly do, and when I told our hv that my dd2 (6 months) always rolls over her left shoulder but never her right, she said it's perfectly that she has a preferred side. Hope this reassures you :)

Thank you! Just reread post, and meant to say she is NOW cruising, walking with v-tech thing rather than "NOT". I know what you mean, I've found when doing yoga etc I am slightly stronger on one side than the other, now that I think about it. Thank you for replying Smile
