Hello out there, I'm not a mum but I am a grandad, is that allowed or do i have to be a young, happening woman, this is my first time on here and my grandson is 22 months old. just thought I'd log on to see what's happened in the world since my own two boys grew up, things seem to have changed a lot.
Any advice on how I do this talk thing ?

Welcome to Mumsnet!

Most of the posters on here are mums, but there are certainly a good few dads who come on and I wouldn't be surprised if there were other grandads too.

I suspect the best thing you could do to start with is browse through the different boards that catch your interest and read through some of the threads. Also, the general info in the sections contained within Bumps To Teens (above, blue buttons) will probably give you a lot of good info on "how things are done now" (many different ways as you'll see from all the arguing discussion that goes on)

If you are confused by the various DD/DS/DH etc. references, there is a handy list of acronyms (link is below the Smileys list) and some FAQs too.

Enjoy hanging out with us!

Hello welcome! I think it's lovely that you want to see how things have changed since your own children were small. Just being interested in good. You must be a lovely grandad! Smile

By the way I'm only old when I look in the mirror, the rest of the time I'm only about 20 ( I wish )

There may well be (racey grannies that is) but you also get grandparents on here. Good luck! Grin
