What to do...?

My ds1 is now 2.3years. He has been kicking the cot at night time for up to 2 hours per night for about 4 months now.

I have tried taking him out of the cot and put him on a mattress and put a gate on his door, he just found something else to kick and bash the wardrobe with at night time. i return him to bed but he thinks it is a game and actually my friends have said that he is too manic to take him out of the cot. I don't know what more to do.

I have a 1 year old that needs to be in her bed between 6-7pm, she screams as she is so tired past this time. But my 2 year old keeps my 1 year old up for hours both of them screaming and kicking etc. I tried stopping his nap in the am, reducing its time too. I have even tried not letting him nap during the day but he can not last the whole day by 2.30 he is creaming the house down for the rest of the day as he is so tired.

Any one else gone through the same problems as me and came out the other side with any suggestions.

Getting really depressed now.

Im sorry i cant offer any advice but I want to say I know how you feel. My ds2 is 2.4 and hates sleeping. He wont go to sleep in his cot but a big bed is too daunting for him at the moment. My ds stopped having naps during the day about 6 months ago (i dont know why, he just doesnt seem to want them) The only problem is he isnt going to sleep until about 8-8.30 every night then up again at 6.30 in the morning and is getting overtired but still wont sleep. He kicks his cot like your ds but luckily he is my youngest and my ds1 sleeps like a log anyway so I dont have to deal with two over tired children but it still gets on top of me sometimes.

I hope your ds soon settles so that you can relax a bit at night.

change, no advice but i've got a ds2(2years)that does exactly the same. Kicks like mad agsainst the wall and the cot goes bang, bang, bang. He seems happy enough, bet the neighbours aren't though!!!

Didn't realise other kids did it!!!
