My 15 month old has started biting. Anyone and everyone seems to be a target. He would just walk up to me and bite me where ever he can then walk away clapping his hands. I've tried ignoring him and also putting him in the travel cot as a time out but it doesnt seem to help. Any advice would be great thansk.

TBH my DD does this when she is teething as the pressure helps relieve her gums. It doesn't sound from your post like it is a fustration thing so have you tried teething powders etc?

My DS is the same age and does this sometimes. It's almost as if he's trying to be affectionate, he'll put his arms round me to give me a cuddle and then sink his teeth in. I remove him and say 'NO!' then walk away from him so he realises it's not a way to get attention. I think it's working as he's doing it less now and has started shaking his head when I say no so he knows it's naughty.

thanks so much. I was hoping it would be a phase. its so true the time out has not worked at all, he obviously doesnt understand whats happening.

Will try Hover, remove reinforce! Thanks so much.

Should have mentioned it's definitely just a phase. My DD did the same thing and quickly grew out of it. Smile

I was told the opposite when my ds bit. I was told that most people try to prevent but it's more likely the reaction which leads to continued biting. Absolutely no eye contact, no speaking, pref move child away and focus only on the victim.
