What activities do/ did you with your DCs before they were walking?

Dd is neatly 15 months old, cruising around & crawling like a pro but hasn't ventured out to walk yet. We do play groups/ soft play but just wondered what other suggestions anyone has for other activities whilst she's still mainly crawling around on the floor? She dislikes being in the buggy after a short time which I can understand but am wondering what else I can do until she's up on her feet? Ta :)

Thanks blue yes we do go swimming. I was thinking more stuff to do at the weekend when DH is around too.

When the weather's nice, wrap up warm and go to a playground that has baby swings, small slides, bouncy animals etc. that you can help her play on? My 10 month old loves this, I'm sure it would be even better for a bigger pre-walker.

At that age, all DS wanted to do was feed ducks and play football ('walking' with me holding his hands).

Our local library does a 'dad and baby/toddler' arts and crafts session on a Saturday morning - does your do anything similar?

Gymboree do Saturday classes and have a 'pre-walkers' session.

Recently we've been to a petting zoo and aquarium/sea life centre which seemed to take DC's mind off being in the buggy.

Thanks everyone. Done really good ideas there, sorry for short post but posting from phone. I'll have a look into sat classes- nice for dd & DH to spend some time together whilst I sleep mn do the housework Grin

get some stacking cups. DS spent hours knocking down towers - you can turn it into a race to build it up in the corner of the room so he has to get to to it before you finish it and just randomly knocking them around the floor. If you can bear the mess, get a play table that holds water and /or sand. Also he was getting quite into stickers at that stage - would just stick them anywhere on a book but loved it - was great for when we were in restaurants etc. WIlkinsons sell sheets for £1

we have a local kiddies library (within the main library) which is good especially on rainy days, they have a big space, some toys, lots books obviously and also kids tables/chairs with lots of scrap paper and boxes crayons - drawing always good! :) and the library is free...
