Please can someone talk some sense into me?

I'm beside myself. . .

DS2 seems to be having trouble walking on his own. He's great at cruising and holding on to fingers, climbing up stairs etc. but can't walk independently. He's 21 months. I had the HV round over Christmas who sent me to a doctor, who referred DS to an orthopedic specialist who's good with kids. I think he's got a very mild club foot, but I really freaked myself out last night.

I was sorting some stuff out to ebay last night and I came across the boots DS1 was wearing at 17 months. He was walking then. But, they are two whole sizes bigger than DS2 is in now at 4 months older. I've now convinced myself that DS2 has some sort of weird foot-not-growing disease (if such a thing exists!!) and he'll never walk on his own.

Has anyone had a similar experience?!

All kids have different sized feet, don't panic :)
DS1, average height, started reception with size 6 shoes - he had to wear toddler shoes as they didn't make school shoes that small. He still has small feet now.
DS2 and 3 have slightly small feet for their age (I think compared to their friends) but not particularly so.

Thank you! I think it's just the difference between the two of them that's unhinged unnerved me. . .

never compare children!

my 2nd was slower in everything because he had his big sister to do everything for him.she spoke for him,got things for him etc.

my niece was quite a big girl, but had tiny feet. I think it does make walking more difficult, like balancing on little pins!!! My dd is tiny everywhere, but her feet were bigger at the same age and she was walking a good 9 months earlier than dniece.

If it makes you feel better, I've had the opposite - DS2 is in the same size shoes at 14m as DS1 was at 2 years old Shock so I don't think it's that unusual/anything to be concerned about.

Thank you for your replies. It's comforting to know that we're not alone! I had visions of him wearing baby shoes forever at the rate he's going!!
