repetition

is it normal for two year olds to sometimes say things three or four times? My dd is like this - apart from this her speech is fine , good vocab and understands everything.
Example: We're outside mummy
We're outside Mummy
Outside ...we're outside Mummy
(Mummy at this point starts a new conversation...)
I have older children but can't remember if they did this or not . It's actually driving me a bit batty - and then I feel bad because I should be happy that she's communicating! Ah the guilt that comes with being a Mum

Definitely normal! My dd did this frequently and would only stop once I had repeated what she had said, she seemed to get stck in a loop, if that makes sense.

Does drive you batty though! Would be interested to know why they do it actually.

my 2 year old dd also does this, also when im having a conversation with anyone else in the room other than her she says for example" what did you say to ..... mummy?" and if i ignore her and carry on talking she'll say it over and over till i reply usually with something mudane like " i was asking daddy if he put the bins out last night!" Very wearing but perfectly normal for their age.
