Hi,
My DS is 7mo old and has always hated tummy time. From birth he would scream ++ if put on his tummy and learnt to roll over from front-back at 8wks to avoid it! Since then if I put him on his tummy he rolls over immediately. I have no idea if he can push up or not!

All of his little friends at the various activities we go to who are the same age are starting to show signs they are going to crawl. Obviously all are developing at slightly diff rates, but DS is the only one who is sitting and making no progress towards locomotion.

I wondered if he might turn out to be a bottom shuffler - anyone else had this situation? How do they learn to move if they don't crawl?

Maybe sounds a bit silly but this is my first baby and I'm a bit clueless!
Thanks

Well my dd3 is exactly the same, learned to roll over early, wailed if put on tummy and still does so now at 7 months.

She likes to sit up, has worked out how to get from lying on her tummy to sitting, and that's how she likes it!

She wil go onto hands and knees in a 'I'm about to crawl' kind of way, but then just sits back, with complete disregard for us waiting for something more. She's mastered the art of swivelling around on her bottom and seems quite happy with that for the time being!

My DD also hated tummy time. She could roll all around the room to get whatever she wanted. She did this til 9mo when she started trying to crawl, and she managed it just before she was 10months old.

She is now 12months and crawls like lightening, there is no difference between her and other babies her age! I guess what I'm trying to say that
They all develop so differently and he will do it in his own time.
