A friend of mine's little boy get physically stimulated IYKWIM when he sees scantily clad women on MTV. She is a little bit worried.

My DS who is a few months older has never been that interested in his tool so I was of no help to her. I know playing with their willie is common and getting stimulated as a result is normal but I was a bit surprised that a 5 yr old could respond to visual stimuli.

Anyone any ideas???

ohhh that'sounds funny and a bit odd - hormones that react to such visual stimuli don't kick in until puberty sets in
but I have no idea, sorry

Thats what I thought. I did a google but could find nothing maybe somebody here has had some experience.

i'd be wondering why she is letting a 5 yr old watch scantily clad women full stop

drosophila · 17/01/2006 20:15

Well it's MTV on in the background. You know the type of scantily clad women I mean like Sugababes in one of their recent videos.

I think it is hard to avoid scantlly clad women these days as so many ads use sex to sell. i don't mean really scantily clad.

DS does play with himself occasionally and is proud when it grows but we just make nonsense of it.

Lonelymum · 17/01/2006 20:18

If it is happening, it must be natural though whether it is normal, I don't know. My ds's don't get stimulated in that way and they are older.

starlover · 17/01/2006 20:19

don't know... not sure i'd let my 5 yr old watch mtv if i knew the content. but that aside.... does he play with himself too?
could it be that he is just relaxing in front of tv and playing with it and it happens? so it isn't JUST the visual stimulation?

Could be I suppose and she hasn't noticed.
