Where can I buy baby nightdresses, hate sleepsuits; poppers are a midnight nightmare

Where can I buy old fashioned baby nightdresses (0-3 months), the type that do up at the bottom? Im told they're much easier to handle in dead of night nappy changes than those wretched poppers on sleepsuit/babygrow legs. Any opinions? Neither John Lewis Online (although maybe in the shop?) nor BM nor Mcare do them, and so far online searches have turned up some very odd results indeed! Can anyone help? I'm in Frome with access to Bath, Bristol, or Salisbury.
Cheers!

I had some sweet ones from Perfectly Happy People - I'm sure they have a website

kalex · 16/01/2006 18:02

Try your local independent baby shop, that's where I got mine for DS, and yes they were much much easier

i got mine from john lewis.
i also had some sweet ones with ducks on from boots but they don't do them anymore.

I've seen some in Baby Gap with a kind of loose drawstring at the bottom.

Got mine from John Lewis - in store (called baby bundler) and they were great.

Petit Bateau

Perfectly Happy People - although a friend warned me off them after she found they led to much worse consequences if a nappy leaked. Not contained by the sleepsuit so the bedding as well would get covered.

mothercare do them, but they're elasticated at the bottom, not poppered.
boots also do them.

the mothercare ones are one size though, so huge on a newborn and no good after about 6 months!

I saw lovely ones at H&M recently - could never find any when DS was tiny.

lyra41 · 17/01/2006 09:09

i love them too, and they are hard to get hold of. got some a john lewis store and some from ebay. when do you need them for? i could pass mine onto you if it's not for a while. you could have them in about 3 or 4 weeks. cat me if you're interested.

I got mine from Mothercare and John Lewis - from the shops not on-line. A friend also gave me some from Baby Gap. They are fab for night time nappy changes - especially if you use a baby sleeping bag - if you are careful the lo sleeps through the nappy change is you don't do too much 'rummaging'.

Hi, thanks for the info. I've called John Lewis in Bristol and bought two over the phone, they're posting them to me at no extra charge. They are about £10 each for plain or £6 for girly ones. I'll let you know if they're any good. Thanks for the offer Lyra, as soon as I have a spare moment I'll CAT you, if you're still offering.
Wekk, hopefully that's another few minutes shaved off nightime nappy changes! Every minute of extra sleep is golden. thanks, SmithTheCat
