When my dd was a couple of months old, her sleep pattens during the night changed and she was waking more. Being a new mum, I contacted my hv for advice. She told me that these things happen but that a full moon can distrupt a baby's sleep!!!! I thought she had lost the plot!!!! However, during the times of the last 2 full moons, dd sleep has been disturbed!!!! Has anyone else noticed this pattern????

When was the last full moon?

Earthymama · 09/01/2012 21:33

I can't remember if it affected my babies, too long ago.
However, I can never sleep at Full Moon, so I'm off to bed early to doze and dream.

It's Full Moon tonight, and She is Sailing in Splendour across the Sky.

I am Pagan and the Moon's cycles are really important. I'm sure you are right about the effect on your baby.
If you think of the power the Moon exerts on the Oceans and gravity and growing things it's not surprising your little one feels it.
Hope you have an undisturbed night xx

If a full moon can make them sleep really, really well, then yes I think it does Grin

Can't say I've really noticed otherwise. Her sleep is hit and miss anyway.

Not sleep necessarily, but it does have an impact on behaviour (theirs and mine!). I have even noticed it at work sometimes, with people acting totally out of character.

It definitely affects their behaviour

My friend who is a high school science teacher said it affects the pupil's behaviour -more restless etc.
