11.5 mo throwing food...argh!

Is there anything I can do about this? My ds will happily munch half of a sandwich/piece of cheese/ fruit etc but then delights in chucking the rest on the floor. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what he chucks and it isn't because he is full as he goes on to eat more afterwards. If I tell him no he laughs uproariously. Do I just ignore and spend a lot of my time picking half eaten babybel off the floor?

I don't want to go back to just spoon feeding, although I do with somethings, but I am also reluctant to give him his own cutlery and a bowl as then presumably it will be all of his meal that goes on the floor and not just finger food bits.

Any advice? Is this just another infuriating stage?

it's normal

he's exploring cause and effect, not just on the object (if I lob it, it disappears, how curious and interesting) but on you (if I lob it, it disappears, then Mummy produces something VERY similar, how terribly funny)

line the floor under the hi chair with newspaper, just gather it up at the end of the day and bin

yes you will be retrieving food from overboard for months, my advice would be to return to him without comment to reduce the game opportunities

I agree. It's nothing more than fun for him. As long as he's eating most of it then I'd ignore it.
