daytime naps in own room

My DS is about 5 1/2 months and has been doing very well sleeping in his own room at night. (I know it's early but he's a big lad and our grew his moses basket and then his crib in record time. We have the angel care monitor to keep track of what he's up to.) He has his daytime naps downstairs so I can keep an eye on him but I've been wondering if it's time for him to have all his naps in his cot bed.

I'd be really grateful if people could tell me when their LOs started having all their naps in their room. I don't want to mess up his night-time sleep by rushing things.

Thanks!

I'm currently in a similar boat with dd (6 months). She doesn't sleep through the night yet, waking between 1-3 times but not always for milk. Think she's teething again.

She cries herself to sleep during the day (ds was the same) but goes over quickly - but only in her buggy. This was a solution to her only sleeping on me. But, I'm thinking it's time to bite the bullet and attempt to put her in her cot for at least one of her naps.

I'll try her first morning nap initially as this one is the least fought against and usually the longest. So that's my suggestion I suppose. If it doesn't work after a few days leave it a couple of weeks and try again.

It's a long time ago now, but both mine had their naps in their rooms from when they moved into them (definitely by 3mths)

I have to confess that we turned off the baby monitor at night - I couldn't sleep with all their snuffling aroundBlush

They are now 12 and nearly 11 Grin

doughnutty - I have tried with the early morning nap too. It has been working ok although not as well as sleeping downstairs. My DS sounds just like your DD. He took to sleeping in the pram when he stopped wanting to fall asleep on me. He's had a bit of trouble sleeping anywhere recently (teeth and belly) so maybe I am just a bit spooked and should carry on with the plan.

bigTillyMint - that would have been great but he didn't take to it at all at 3 months. I have considered switching the monitor off but he's getting up to some interesting hi-jincks at the moment. Don't want to miss out!

DS1 was about 11 months (in his own room at night from 6 months), but it was a battle, and he really didn't want to sleep anywhere other than his pram downstairs or outside. DS2 was a pram napper too and liked to be outside, but when he hit about 7 months it just got too cold so we started putting him in his cot - very easy transition, and he sleeps longer in a quiet room upstairs.

My ds has daytime nap s in his room . He is about the same age but has done so since a small baby . I try to make sure we are at home for lunchtime but if I'm out be sleeps in buggy / car . He sleeps 7-7 in his bed at night and has done for weeks . I have angel care too

My dd has had naps in cot from about five months, she's 18m now and just waking from a two hour nap in her cot!! x

Mine had all sleeps in her room from about 6 weeks from memory. No monitor for us, couldn't be doing with all the snuffling noises.
